One definition of authority is possessing the power to influence others, especially because of one's commanding manner or recognized knowledge about something. When we look at authors which is someone who originates. or creates something. Combining both definitions brings us to the purpose of this series: Authors are not only the originators of their work, they have recognized knowledge of the subject within their work.
